There are some impressive Black Boy Joy firsts in this week’s Black People Magic…
Timi Adelakun will be the first black valedictorian of his Florida high school with a GPA of 5.6! He got it that high through a program at his school that allows him to take advanced placement classes and enroll in college courses too. He was accepted at 8 universities, including University of Chicago and Julliard, but he decided to go to Pomona College in California because he could study molecular biology and pursue his passion for acting at the same time.
And Noah Harris, a Harvard University student originally from Mississippi was voted the first black class president ever at the Ivy League school. He says he’s honored and wants to do everything he can to improve student life during virtual learning.
Remember to always celebrate your magic! xo
