I love it when Chicago people do their thing, make it big and bring it back home… actor Harry Lennix, star of Blacklist, Billions, The Matrix, The Five Heartbeats and more is a Chicagoan and Northwestern alum who’s doing just that.
He has announced securing the location of his African-American Museum of Performing Arts at 43rd and Cottage Grove. It will be the home of the Congo Square Theater Company and feature two theaters for performances. The goal is for this museum to be a Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts for black people, celebrating our contributions to everything from dance to movies, music and theater.
Go Harry… proud to know you and call you one of ours. And THANK YOU!
