I’ve been reading up on President Biden’s COVID stimulus plan and I saw some really good news in there for parents.
If you have children living at home with you and the bill passes the way it was approved in committee on Thursday, you could get $250 per child – $300 for each child under 6 – every month for 6 months beginning in July.
It’s basically half of an expanded child tax credit that you would get from the IRS… but instead of waiting for it all at the end of the year, you get it during the year. The other half would be a refund on your taxes as usual.
The measure is supposed to help families hardest hit by COVID, because children are more likely now to be going hungry than they have in the past.
