When you work hard to make a difference in your community, there are rewards… this week’s Black People Magic celebrates the 2021 Field Foundation Leaders for a New Chicago award winners.
These $50,000 awards recognize and support those who are addressing bias in Chicago’s diverse and marginalized communities. The recipients get $25,000 for their work and $25,000 for themselves… the Field Foundation wants these hard workers to take care of themselves too.
The recipients include Monica Lynne Haslip from the Little Black Pearl, Brandon “Chief Manny” Calhoun of Era Footwork Crew, Aislinn Pully of Chicago Torture Justice Center, Damon A Williams of #LetUsBreathe Collective and LaSaia Wade of Brave Space Alliance.
