The weather may not turn out perfectly, but there’s still great stuff to do this weekend!
Taste of Chicago is back this year… but not in Grant Park! It’s taking place all over the city with free music, dance and events. Today, the Taste hits the West Side at the Hatchery on Kedzie and Lake and Englewood at 63rd and Wood, plus Taste classics Eli’s Cheesecake and Robinson’s Ribs at Eli’s.
Tomorrow is the launch of Sundays on State! It’s an all-day block party with live music, art, and pop-up shops. State Street will be shut down from Madison to Lake 11am to 8pm and the party will repeat 7 other Sundays this summer.
And there’s a big art installation beautifying Englewood and Bronzeville, that the Monumental Tour brought to town. You can see the large statues, which honor the fight for racial equity, through August. Check them out at 44th and King Drive and 58th and Halsted.
Whatever you choose, have fun and don’t let me EVER hear you say you don’t have anything to do!
