As of yesterday, Chicago’s mask mandate is back. Infection rates, hospitalizations and deaths due to COVID continue to rise in the city, state and nation to their highest point in months due to the Delta variant.
All people over the age of 2 are asked to wear masks in indoor public areas, even if they’re vaccinated. Restaurants remain open and you may dine without your mask at your table with your party.
In related news, vaccine booster shots have been recommended by the CDC. Because of all the breakthrough cases that have been spreading among the vaccinated, it is now recommended that you receive a booster shot of the vaccine 8 months after your last shot. This applies to Pfizer and Moderna vaccines and recommendations for Johnson & Johnson will be out soon.
In the meantime, stay safe, mask up and be well!
