I love it when our young people inspire us with their magic… this week’s Black People Magic is all about lifting others up.
12 year old Kerry Koranteng is from Chicago but has family in Ghana and her first trip to visit them there when she was 8, moved her to take action. She noticed that none of the children in her great auntie’s village had shoes.
So Kerry did something about it. She teamed up with a non-profit to send them shoes… working to pay for the shipping fees and even bringing them in her suitcases when she would go back for visits. At this point, she’s given away over a thousand pairs in just the few years she’s been doing this.
