Remembering 9/11: Finding Hope for the Future, Learning From the Past

It’s been 20 years since the attacks that brought down the towers of the World Trade Center in New York, damaged the Pentagon and crashed a plan in Pennsylvania… every American who was alive that day remembers where they were, what they were doing and how things have changed since then.

I keep praying that we will continue to move forward and heal… and while we’ve come a long way, we’ve had some setbacks and big disappointments. That’s part of the journey.

Let’s take inspiration from all the good things in the world… like the commitment of the New York City medical examiner’s office, who continues to identify those who died in the attacks which claimed the lives of 2,753 people. Just this week, two more families got to know for sure that their loved ones’ remains were recovered from Ground Zero. And the closure they now have 20 years later is priceless as they can lay them to rest.

Here's another way to offer inspiration, reflection and hope on this anniversary... an Instagram tribute called Remember the Sky.

Never forget.
