Chicago’s true old schoolers will find fond memories in the new documentary, “Live at Mr. Kelly’s.”
The film tells the story of the famous Rush Street nightclub – at the location where Gibson’s Steakhouse is now on the Gold Coast. Mr. Kelly’s featured superstars like Richard Pryor, Bette Midler, Maya Angelou, Barbra Streisand, Ella Fitzgerald and more for decades… the documentary has new interviews from the luminaries who performed there plus footage of actual shows from the archives.
It’s playing now at the Gene Siskel Film Center and will be available for streaming next month. Check out the trailer below!
