Things are looking up! COVID numbers in Chicago and the rest of the state are improving. There’s even better news for families, as research indicates the Pfizer vaccine effectively protects children 5-11 years old, paving the way for FDA emergency approval for that age group… and the CDC is now recommending booster shots for seniors, frontline workers and those with compromised immune systems.
Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr. says the vaccine saved his life… he and wife Jacqueline are both back home after recovering from COVID, and urging our community to get vaccinated. President Biden will add to that message with a visit to Chicago on Wednesday to spotlight a company supporting vaccines for the safety of their employees and customers.
And the end result to all this? In-person activities keep opening up further… the city’s holiday festivities will all be back in person, starting with Halloween, the Christmas tree lighting, and more!
