Beloved Chicago Historian Timuel Black Needs Our Help

A Chicago treasure needs our support, family. Beloved legendary Civil Rights activist and historian Timuel Black is receiving hospice care at his South Side home.

A Go Fund Me Page has been set up to help with his care… all of the funds will go directly toward making the time he has left as comfortable and with as much dignity as possible. One of the organizers, Lisa Yun Lee said that“Tim has been working for all of us for his whole life, fighting the good fight to create a better world. Let us join together and show how much we care. Please give generously… we owe him that.”

Professor Black is 102 years old, born during the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic, is a World War II veteran who organized the Chicago delegation to Martin Luther King Jr.’s 1963 March on Washington. He has written several books and is professor emeritus of the City Colleges of Chicago.

& A very special thanks goes out to Shermann Dilla Thomas (check him out on Twitter @6figga_dilla -- linked below) for the photo of the mural honoring Professor Black and for spreading the word about the fundraiser, so we can send our love and support. 🙏🏽❤️
