Grammy nominations were announced earlier this week and there’s Black people magic in them – we’re breaking records by making records!
With Jay-Z’s three new nominations, the hip-hop billionaire has now become the most nominated recording artist in the award show’s history with 83 total. And with that, he and wife Beyonce have become the most-nominated couple in the history of the Grammys… Queen Bey is the female artist with the most Grammy, wins at 28 with nominations totaling 79.
And I’ve also got to congratulate Michigan State’s head coach Mel Tucker on becoming the highest-paid Black coach in American sports after agreeing to a historic 10-year, $95 million contract extension. He has a long history in the Big Ten, along with Midwestern roots… He’s from from Cleveland, he played at Wisconsin and his wife is from Chicago.
