Someone recently said to me that the end of the year brings lots of transitions of life and this year, I really saw it… in my family, my friends’ families and in public life.
Yesterday brought the passing of NFL Hall of Fame coach, iconic broadcaster and the all-time inspiration for sports gamers everywhere…John Madden, who died unexpectedly at the age of 85.
ESPN’s Jeff Dickerson, who covered the Bears for the network, passed away yesterday from colon cancer at the young age of 44, just 2 years after he lost his wife to melanoma.
And we lost singer Wanda Young at the age of 78 right before Christmas... she sang with the Marvalettes on their hits "Please Mr. Postman" and "Don’t Mess With Bill."
Remembering them all, their families and anyone of you who may be missing a loved one this holiday season. I know how you feel.
