What's Happening This Weekend: Fun for BHM

It’s the first weekend of Black History Month and there are lots of things going on to celebrate!

Garfield Park Conservatory is featuring free guided tours through their collection to learn about Black History in a different way – and you can participate in person or online. And check out their pop up shop for black owned Monday Coffee Company all month long, too.

The Museum of Science and Industry hosts the return of Black Creativity, the longest running exhibition of African American artists, which began back in 1970. It also features youth artists between the ages of 14 and 17. Black Creativity runs through April 17th and is included in Museum Entry.

Another way to support the creativity of black folks… is with beer! Tonight, Haymarket Beer in the West Loop is kicking off a 6-week residency highlighting some of the finest products from the coolest black- owned breweries.

Whatever you choose, have fun, stay safe and don’t let me EVER hear you say you don’t have anything to do!
