Several of Chicago’s prominent Black leaders have come together in an effort to recognize a legendary Chicagoan and his radio show. Congressman Danny Davis and Father Michael Pfleger are part of the group that wants the City of Chicago establish an honorary street sign for the “Cliff Kelley Show.”
For 26 years, Cliff Kelley was a fixture on Chicago radio until 2019 on WVON (as well as WGCI AM1390), talking about everything from politics to education and Black History, covering race, voting rights and social injustice. For all his contributions, the group and the Chicago Crusader are urging Mayor Lightfoot to also declare the day of the street naming “Cliff Kelley Day” in Chicago.
I couldn’t think of a better person to give that honor too… here’s to you Cliff Kelley!
