The National A. Philip Randolph Pullman Porter Museum is celebrating Labor Day on Monday with a free community event… it’s The Urban Renaissance Event Series, paying tribute to & re-creating the energy of the Harlem and Chicago Renaissance periods through music, art, literature, and film.
The lineup includes live performances and art exhibitions starting at 11am on its campus 817 East 104th Street followed by a cultural explosion with special guest, music industry executive Damon Dash, who’s also part of the museum’s new path of footprints leading to their campus expansion.
Museum President David Peterson Jr. said, “Each footprint will symbolize the empowerment of entrepreneurs and pay tribute to the Black Labor movement.”
Happy Labor Day!
