The Cook County Promise Guaranteed Income Pilot Program is accepting applications through October 21st. The county’s new program is guaranteeing an income of $12,000 to 3,250 people. Qualified applicants will be entered in a lottery to participate and you’ll find out next month if you’ll receive the grants then payments begin in January. Apply at this link.
And for anyone affected by the building explosion and collapse a couple of weeks ago on Central in the Austin neighborhood, the governor issued a disaster declaration for affected residents, condo homeowners, and businesses to apply for low-interest loans for damages not covered by insurance. Applications are available in person at the Austin Town Hall Park, 5610 W. Lake Street in Chicago every day except Sundays through October 20th. The Disaster Loan Outreach Center will be open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Monday October 10, the Disaster Loan Outreach Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
