Black People Magic: Lena Horne Makes Broadway History

It's a first for Broadway in today’s Black People Magic… Lena Horne made history this week as the first Black woman to have a Broadway Theatre named in her honor.

This Tuesday, the former Brooks Atkinson Theatre on West 47th Street in New York City was renamed for the late iconic actress, singer and civil rights activist.

Lena Horne’s legendary career spanned over 70 years and she earned multiple Tony and Grammy awards for her work on stage, in music and in movies. She passed away in 2010.

You can catch the musical “Six,” currently playing at the newly-named theatre.

& Remember to always celebrate your magic!
