Celebrating some local Black People Magic! A couple of weeks ago, Chantelle Porter made history by becoming the first black woman to serve as a Circuit Court Judge in the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit of Illinois.
She was appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court on December 12th to serve in the court that serves DuPage County. She told CBS News that she “was honored to be part of this historic moment.”
According to Jessica Rymut, her colleague at A. Traub & Associates, Judge Porter has spent her legal career in DuPage, advocating for families and children with compassion and fairness and will continue to do so as a circuit court judge.
Congratulations history maker! & Remember to always celebrate your magic! xo
