Community Connect, hooks you up and helps you out with resources you can use… this week, it’s all about taking care of caregivers.
The City Colleges of Chicago has launched a free summer program to do just that at Malcolm X College. The Chicago Caregivers Program just held a 2 day version of the program last month and now they're expanding it.
This summer, the college's continuing education program will offer a longer course that will be completely free and open to about 25 students. The City College’s vice chancellor of enrollment, Darryl Williams, said that the original program was designed specifically for caregivers of veterans and first responders, but he encourages any kind of caregiver to apply.
