Here are some things to get into this Earth Day weekend...
A Party for the Planet is back at Brookfield Zoo! They’re recycling in the main parking lot until 2pm today and tomorrow, they’re hosting their family-friendly Earth Day Run starting at 8am and all ages are welcome to participate. Proceeds from the event benefit the Chicago Zoological Society’s Animal Care and Conservation Fund.
Cherry blossom season is here and Jackson Park’s historic Garden of the Phoenix, 64th and Stony Island (6401 S. Stony Island) is hosting its free viewing festival today starting at noon. See their 160 blooming trees with drumming and dance performances, origami folding and cherry blossom sketching sessions.
The 18th Annual Cine-Youth Film Festival is this weekend at Facets on Fullerton… it features work from filmmakers under 22 from around the world along with workshops. It's free and open to the public.
