Shaquille O'Neal is for the children… and his latest investment backs that up with support for a kid-focused AI powered reading platform.
The Hall of Famer is now a lead investor in Edsoma, an app that helps people learn to read and improve their reading, comprehension and communication skills. He told the crowd at a recent tech conference that he invested in the startup after he tried it out and was inspired by advice he got from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, that “if you invest in things, you are going to change people’s lives.”
The Edsoma investment is just one of the many big money moves Shaq has made in growing his empire, which includes drive-thru car washes, and interests in Krispy Kreme Donuts, Papa John’s Pizza and his own fast-food restaurant chain, Big Chicken, including a recently opened location in Rosemont.
& He continues his giving efforts through The Shaquille O'Neal Foundation and is hosting a fundraising gala on October 7th at MGM in Las Vegas with performances from John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, and an all-star comedy lineup.
& Remember to always celebrate your magic! xo
