Community Connect is here this week with fall fun, including some good freebies and an opportunity for teens to achieve their dreams!
Check out the Bronzeville Fall Festival today at 1pm at Absolutely Anything Essential at 35th and King Drive (3521 S. King)… it’s all free with family-friendly fun, kids zone, live entertainment, costume contest and more. The not-for-profit, This is Life is giving free haircuts and coats for children (must register here for a complimentary coat).
And if you know an exceptional teen who’s interested in entertainment, STEM or business, Disney Dreamers Academy is looking for them! The Academy is a four-day mentorship program created for Black teens from underrepresented communities to give them experience and guidance to set them up for career success. U.S. high school students aged 13-19 can apply or be nominated by an adult by Tuesday, October 31st. One hundred teens will be selected for the spring program, which includes an all-expense paid trip to Walt Disney World Resort with one parent or guardian. Students or nominating adults can apply at this link.
Remember, our community moves forward in the best way possible when we all get the help we need and give the help we can!
