Today the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival along Michigan Avenue starts at 11am with pre-parade activities the Grand Marshalls Mickey and Minnie Mouse lead the parade as it steps off Michigan Avenue and Oak Street at 5:30pm. The parade features performances by Sister Sledge, The Funky Bunch and The Sugar Hill Gang celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop!

Christmas Around the World and Holiday of Lights at the Museum of Science and Industry opens today. The museum's four-story tall Grand Tree is surrounded by 50 trees and displays representing holiday traditions from cultures around the world, and runs through January 7th.

Lots of handmade gifts, German food and plenty of hot beverages to keep you warm while you wander around!
