Community Connect is hooking you up and helping you out with resources you can use for some last minute Christmas goodies for the kids and a way to keep our history alive!
Today, Outreach Ministry hosts their annual free Christmas gift bag giveaway for kids and teens starting at 1pm at 26th & Sacramento in Little Village (2950 West 26th Street, Chicago). Parents and guardians must accompany children to get the free gift bags… and they will also have their usual free items like clothing, furniture and Bibles. And it’s all first come, first served.
And the Black Metropolis Research Consortium has extended the deadline for their summer short term fellowship program to January 8th. This program is an international competition that includes a one-month residential fellowship at the University of Chicago for scholars, artists, writers, and public historians to create new historical narratives of the Black experience.
Remember, our community moves forward in the best way possible when we all get the help we need and give the help we can!
