Chicago’s about to hit the top 5! This month is on track to be the 4th warmest December on record for our city.
And that’s not the only record set this month… Christmas Day’s 59 degree high didn’t quite beat the record high of 64 from 1982, but the low temp of 50 was the warmest ever. And according to WGN meteorologist Tom Skilling, it was one of only seven Christmas Days that we’ve hit 50 or higher since 1871.
And before you get too excited and think we really might have a truly mild winter… the National Weather Service says we should expect to get back to our usual frigid chilly temps by January. Womp wommmmmmp.
