It’s two days to New Year’s Eve and all the traffic safety and law enforcement agencies at the city and state level put out their annual holiday advisory yesterday.
The Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois State Police, and nearly 200 law enforcement agencies across the area and state started putting in overtime last night and will continue to work extra hours through the beginning of the new year on Monday.
Their main focus will be patrolling for impaired driving, speeding, seat belts and other traffic laws that could jeopardize your safety and others’… so buckle up, watch the speed limit, come to a complete stop, and designate a driver or get a ride.
