Wishing luck to Chicago radio legend, one of WVON’s Good Guys, Joe Cobb, who was the voice of the legendary Soul Train scream. He said it all started as just a prank when he and Don Cornelius worked together at the station.
Now, Mr. Cobb says he stopped receiving royalties for his work in 2008 even though the current owners of the show still use his voice on DVD box sets of the show, syndicated reruns and ringtones.
He filed suit this week in Chicago against Paramount Global, CBS Entertainment and BET to receive back royalties of around $75,000 for the use of his voice on the show.
I pray our legend gets what he is owed!
