Community Connect: Support for Black Maternal Health Week

Community Connect has all the free resources to ensure better health for our moms and babies... plus something to help out our elders and families.

It’s Black Maternal Health Week and we here iHeart Media Chicago have partnered with Lurie Children’s Hospital and West Side United to launch the new West Side Healthy Parents and Babies Program with a panel discussion called “Connections to Care.” It features area doctors and providers and covers all the ways we can ensure every mother and child gets the care they deserve. See all the details at the flyer below. And I’ll be there to serve as moderator! It’s all happening Tuesday, April 16th from 9am to 10:30 am at Bethel New Life, 1150 N. Lamon Avenue in Chicago. The event is free but you so need to register online in advance at this link

And coming up in a couple of weeks, the Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter’s 2nd Annual Release the Silence and RACE into Action African-American Conference will be held Saturday April 27th at Greenwood Oaks at New Life Covenant Church in Chicago. The conference is free and aims to help caregivers and anyone helping those with Alzheimer’s or dementia, but you need to register online at this link, as space is filling up quickly.

Remember, our community moves forward in the best way possible when we all get the help we need and give the help we can!
