Community Connect is hooking you up and helping you out with resources you can use for back to school!
The Chicago Urban League is hosting their annual back to school festival today from 10am to 2 pm at their offices at 45th and Michigan (4510 S. Michigan Avenue, Chicago). The event is free for the whole family and includes free school supplies, backpacks, food, haircuts, Covid 19 vaccinations and more while supplies last… plus they'll also have raffles for $150 gift cards for Footlocker and two iPads!
And come see us at the 95th Annual Bud Billiken Parade next Saturday morning and visit their “It Takes A Village Back to School Festival” after that. It runs from 10a to 4pm in Washington Park on Saturday August 10th. In addition to the parade down King Drive, you can get free hairstyling and haircuts at the fair, plus visit their job employment fair at their Workforce Pavilion, on-site college admissions, performances, and free school supplies for the kids.
