Black People Magic: Obama Presidential Library's History-Making Leader

A sister's making history right here in Chicago and showing off Black People Magic!

Dr. Kenvi Phillips, two-time Howard University graduate, was appointed as the inaugural Director of the Barack Obama Presidential Library at the National Archives in Chicago and started her job back in June, leading the planning and administration of all library programs and activities.

Dr. Phillips brings more than 2 decades of experience in libraries and academic institutions and already made history as Brown University’s first Library Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She’s making history now as she leads the way at the first fully digital Presidential library. 95% of the records kept by the Obama Library were created digitally and will be kept in that form, changing the way we think about access to stories and information that have helped to shape our nation.

& Remember to always celebrate your magic! xo
