Tonight, it’s the Sweetest Day Comedy Jam at Wintrust Arena, starring Bill Bellamy, Nephew Tommy, Mark Curry, Tommy Davidson, Luenell, and Tony Roberts!
Today, get into a Halloween mood with Arts in the Park’s Annual Halloween Parade full of colorful, family-friendly flair. It steps off at 6pm headed down State Street from Lake.
Boo at the Zoo is this weekend at Brookfield Zoo… take the whole family to check out the animals getting in the Halloween spirit with their pumpkins, decorate your own, take a spin on the decked-out carousel and more!
The 60th Chicago International Film Festival opened this week, running through October 27th at venues across the city, featuring a lineup of around 100 dramas, documentaries, comedies and foreign films, plus 60 short film programs and lots of stars in and out of town the whole time!
This weekend is also Open House Chicago, organized by the Chicago Architecture Center. It’s a free public festival giving you behind-the-scenes access to architecturally, historically and culturally significant sites throughout Chicago that you rarely get to see. It's free but you should go online to register and plan your visits.
Tonight, catch Step Afrika’s “The Migration: Reflections on Jacob Lawrence” at the Auditorium Theater at 7:30pm, telling the story of the Great Migration through dance. The Great Migration was one of the largest movements of people in United States history, when millions of African Americans moved from the rural South to the industrial North in the 1900s.
Get your jazz on with the Miles Davis “Kind of Blue” 65th Anniversary Tribute at City Winery Chicago at 7:30pm tonight.
Tomorrow, check out a special screening celebrating the 20th anniversary of B. Cole’s comedy film “A Get2Gether” featuring a Q&A with the all-star cast after the screening and special guest appearances. It’s all at Harold Washington Cultural Center, doors open at 4pm, the screening will begin at 5pm.
