Mo' Money's Coming in the New Year!

Beginning January 1st, Illinois is one of 23 states that will raise the minimum wage to $15.00 an hour for non-tipped employees and it applies to workers in many industries, from hospitality to retail. Tipped employees will also see an increase to $9.00 an hour.

Supporters of the wage hike say it will help with “better access to housing, education, and health care, as well as a cushion against rising inflation” for workers. Small business owners, and those in the restaurant industry in particular, have expressed concerns about increased payroll costs which could lead to them hiring fewer employees and setting higher prices for goods and services.

You can’t win for losing sometimes… but progress will happen, whether you’re ready or not.
