This week brings us what I like to call Christma-Kwanzaa-kah! For the first time since 2005, the Christian holiday of Christmas, Jewish holiday of Hannukah and the African-American celebration of Kwanzaa all fall in the same week. Christmas Eve is Tuesday, Christmas Day is Wednesday, Hanukkah also begins at sundown on December 25th, ending on January 2nd then Kwanzaa begins on Thursday.
So let’s get into our celebration of ALL the holidays…here’s What’s Happening:
Get your house on at the Chosen Few DJs Holiday Party at Vu Rooftop (133 E. Cermak Road in Chicago) with 2 rooms of house music starting at 4pm...
For family-friendly fun, check out the Miracle on 63rd Street celebration at the Englewood Breakroom POP Plaza, 63rd and Ashland (1539 West 63rd Street in Chicago) from 1-5 pm… with hot chocolate, an ice skating rink, toy and coat giveaways, festive decorations, a DJ, food, a holiday tree, and lights!
Winterland at Gallagher Way at Wrigley Field runs today and tomorrow for free starting at 11am each day. They’ve got photos with Santa, a winter market, carnival rides and treats!
Tommy Davidson takes over the stage at The Improv in Schaumburg in shows tonight and tomorrow night…
Tomorrow, get the last, hard-to-find gifts on your list at the Hyde Park Handmade Artisan Bazaar at The Promontory from 10am to 3pm, featuring vendors with lots of unique gifts to choose from plus food, a cocktail bar and music. And it’s free to attend!
Looking ahead to next week:

The Harlem Globetrotters will bring their special brand of humor to the court at Credit Union 1 Arena on Thursday, December 26th and to Allstate Arena on Friday, December 27th.
