Community Connect is always here to hook you up and help you out with resources you can use... this week, we continue our celebration of Black History Month with free events for the whole family!
Jewel-Osco at 87th & the Dan Ryan (87 W. 87th Street) hosts their 26th Annual Black History Month Celebration today from noon-4 pm. They’re featuring product showcases from over 30 brands, including minority-owned food and drink brands like Moo & Oink, Best Chef, Reggio’s and Ma’s Best… plus live music, kids’ activities, special savings and coupons, giveaways and prizes from your favorite brands. Best of all, it’s all free!
Also today, the South Side YMCA at 63rd & Stony Island (6330 S. Stony Island) hosts a Black History Celebration Event for Children and Families from 11am-12:30pm. Celebrate and honor our community’s rich history and culture with interactive activities, educational workshops, music, and more. It’s all free and children under 14 must have a parent or guardian present.
