Community Connect is here to hook you up and help you out with resources you can use… this week, we celebrate with free activities for Easter and Earth Day!
Hop on over to the Eggstravaganza at Kennicott Park Kennicott (4434 S. Lake Park Avenue, Chicago)… it’s an egg-citing day of family fun for children 5-13, with an egg hunt, games, and activities from 10am-noon (while supplies last).
You can also meet the Easter Bunny at the Egg Hunt at John G. Shedd Park on 23rd and Lawndale (3660 W. 23rd Street, Chicago) from 10am-1pm today.
Tuesday, April 22nd is Earth Day but you can celebrate today at Garfield Park Conservatory’s Earth Day Fest from 11am-2pm (300 N. Central Park Avenue, Chicago). Their free family festival raises awareness and celebrates all the ways we can help protect our planet, featuring a variety of family activities, including an ARTWEST artist talk, Dinosaur Discovery with T-Rexplorers, a Haiku Happy Hour at noon plus photo booth, wellness walk and market, toddler zone, and more. Stop by or book your reservation ahead of time. Donations are always graciously accepted to support the conservatory’s programs.
