Let’s get into some fun stuff this last weekend in April...
Laugh with Chicago's own Chris Redd at the Improv in Schaumburg through tomorrow…
Expo Chicago, the Midwest’s biggest art show, returns to Navy Pier’s Festival Hall this weekend, featuring over 170 of the world’s leading art galleries from 36 countries and 93 cities around the world.
Join the Chicagoland Book Crawl today in celebrating Independent Bookstore Day. More than 50 independent bookstores in the greater Chicago area are participating and when you stop in each store, you’ll receive a passport and/or stamp and when you collect 10 stamps during the day (9am-5pm) you’ll get 10% off at participating shops for an entire year.
Tomorrow, Chicago’s Black chamber music collective D-Composed and poet, songwriter, and performing artist Jamila Woods are hosting a sound-healing experience at the Kehrein Center for the Arts from 6-7:30pm honoring the Austin community with music and poetry by Black artists and composers. This event is free and open to the public, pre-registration is required at this link.
Looking ahead to next week:
D.L. Hughley will be at the Improv in Schaumburg May 2nd through 4th.
And next Friday, it’s the R&B Invitation Tour with Joe, Musiq Soulchild and Eric Benét at the Arie Crown and we have tickets all weekend long!
Whatever you choose, have fun and don’t let me EVER hear you say you don’t have anything to do!
