Community Connect is here to hook you up and help you out with resources you can use… this weekend, we’ve got more summer opportunities for the young people in your life in music and getting ready for college!
The Chicago Jazz Philharmonic is accepting applications for their summer paid internship program. They are looking for two motivated high school students to spend the summer with one of the most unique orchestras in the world. They’ll receive mentorship and training in many areas of the arts non-profit world, while gaining business and interpersonal skills that will translate to any career field. The deadline to apply is tomorrow, June 8th. Apply here.
The Chicago Urban League is offering a free summer immersion program for young people from 11-19 years old. It’s designed to help students explore their passions, build future-ready skills, and prepare for college with activities ranging from STEM projects to music video production. They will provide a light breakfast and lunch and it runs from June 16th through 26th, Monday through Thursday from 10am-2pm each day at Chicago Urban League, 4510 S. Michigan Avenue.
