Community Connect, hooks you up and helps you out with resources you can use… this week, we keep the Juneteenth celebrations going and news about a free kids’ summer meal program!
The Forest Preserves of Cook County invite everyone out to the free Juneteenth Jubilee today from 11am to 3pm at Sand Ridge Nature Center (15891 Paxton Avenue) in South Holland… featuring performers, indoor and outdoor activities, family fun events, food for free and for purchase, vendors, and more. And at 1pm Cook County Board and Forest Preserves President Toni Preckwinkle will be present for a cake cutting ceremony.
And Chicago Public Library is hosting Summer at CPL, providing free summer meals for kids and teens Mondays through Fridays from 1-3pm through August 15th at the Kelly Branch, (6151 S. Normal Boulevard). Summer meals are provided by the Greater Chicago Food Depository and are available while supplies last, and must be eaten onsite.
Remember, our community moves forward in the best way possible when we all get the help we need and give the help we can!
