This past Wednesday, September 10th marked the first anniversary of when we lost Frankie Beverly, lead singer of Maze.
Fans are still celebrating his legacy, timeless music and the joy he brought to the world. Various media outlets and fan groups posted tributes honoring him this week and since his passing, he’s received numerous honors, including a street renamed after him in his hometown of Philadelphia.
Back in February at the Grammys, he was given a posthumous Grammy at the Special Merit Awards ceremony. New Orleans paid tribute to connection to the city with a 2nd line celebration and in May, the mayor of Raleigh, North Carolina proclaimed May 10th as Frankie Beverly Day in his city with a tribute concert.
And if you feel like taking a trip, next Saturday, September 20th, Birmingham, Alabama will honor the legacy of Frankie Beverly with the We Are One: An All-White Celebration. Tickets available at this link.
& Remember to always celebrate your magic! xo
