Community Connect is always here to hook you up and help you out with resources you can use… this weekend, it’s about uplifting our caregivers and those with Alzheimer’s plus supporting those who aspire to work in media.
Tomorrow, Sunday, September 21st is World Alzheimer’s Day, a global effort to raise awareness and challenge the stigma around Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia. Support by joining me in supporting the 2025 Chicago Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, October 4th at Lincoln Park Grove 2 (at the corner of LaSalle & Stockton). All funds raised go to the Alzheimer’s Association for care, support, and research. Please register, donate, or volunteer online here.
Next month, join Chicago media personalities, comedians and entertainers at the “Stars for Sara” benefit show at the Des Plaines Theater on Tuesday, October 21st. I’ll be there with Lisa E. and host Val Warner to honor the late Sara Janz, daughter of retired ABC7 traffic and feature reporter Roz Varon and ABC-7 engineer Ed Janz, who lost her last year. Proceeds benefit the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Sara Janz Take Your Shot Memorial Scholarship.
