The AIDS Walk and Run is today at Soldier Field starting at 10:30am… the walk raises awareness and funds for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago.
For the young people in your life headed to college… coming up Saturday, October 11th, The 100 Black Men of Chicago host their 23rd Annual College Scholarship Fair at UIC’s Dorin Forum. They’ll have representatives present from over 200 colleges and universities, including historically Black institutions. The fair is free and open to students, parents and educators. Students are advised to bring transcripts and recommendation letters if available. You can register now at this link.
And as we continue to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month through October 15th, check out the 8th Annual Latina Expo in Chicago next Friday and Saturday October 3rd and 4th at Malcolm X College (1900 W. Jackson Blvd, Chicago). It’s a two-day celebration of Latina leadership, innovation, and culture, featuring panels, products, networking, and empowerment opportunities plus red-carpet Hollywood film screenings with cast and producers attending,
