It's the last weekend of September already, but we’re still enjoying summer like weather this weekend, so let’s get it IN!
The 19th Annual Hyde Park Jazz Festival is this weekend, featuring more than 30 performances today from 2-11pm and tomorrow from 2-6pm. The festival is free to enter, but a $10 donation is appreciated.
Today is the free Uptown Rhythm Festival from 10am-6pm along the lakefront between Foster & Lawrence at Wilson Abbey (935 West Wilson, Chicago). Enjoy dance, music and community with artists from around the world, from African drumming to Chinese dance, Flamenco to Garba. Bring your own food and drinks. Parking is limited, so consider doing rideshare or public transportation.
Also this weekend, it’s the Brown Family Ranch 10th Annual Gaming Show Rodeo starting at noon, at 2246 Mississippi Street in Gary… they’ll have live music, vendors and food starting at 2, plus rodeo gaming events including relay-plug, open & junior barrels, calf roping, bulldogging and more! Tonight, Brian McKnight performs at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan at 8pm…
World Music Festival Chicago continues through October 5th at various locations across the city, celebrating diverse music from nations across the globe. Free admission!
It’s also Chicago Gourmet Weekend through tomorrow at Millenium Park and other nearby venues, celebrating the best of the Chicago food and beverage scene.
