Today (Saturday, November 22nd) Chicago Emerging Stars hosts their 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway from 10am until noon at the Chicago Police 6th District Parking Lot, 7808 S. Halsted Street in Chicago. They will be distributing over 300 frozen 16-20 pound Butterball turkeys to families. No registration is needed. First come first serve, 1 turkey per car or walk-up.
Also today (Saturday, November 22nd), Hope Christian Church in Hammond hosts their free community pre-Thanksgiving Dinner from 2-4pm. Everyone is welcome for good food and fellowship. (see flyer below for all the details)
And if you want to support those who need food this holiday season, The Greater Chicago Food Depository that has food assistance programs and supports food banks in our areas is accepting donations, and every dollar you give today will be matched two times so they're able to provide twice the meals for our neighbors in need across the Chicagoland area and Cook County.
